One love, one life. These all final words echoed through his head, as he walked, totally oblivious of his surroundings, only looking up to make sure he was within his borders, as a rebel apparently. He never had thought of himself as a rebel though, he just didnt like choosing sides, didnt like conflict. Tried to avoid it if possible, though he didnt really mind being called a rebel, it was something he hadnt been called before, and he wasnt complaining. It gave him a sense of power if you could call it that. Trip your personality is brighter than sunshine, even your name makes me smile...He shut his eyes tight and walked faster.
He just couldnt get her out of his mind, her deep violet eyes, her snow white fur. Her unflappable calm, sensibility. Everything he was not, she completed him somehow. She obviously hadnt felt that way. His cheery disposition that blocked his mind from these thoughts had deserted him and he was left open and vulnerable as he was left with the despairing thoughts in his head. He walked ever faster, refusing to break in a run, for all that reminded him of was how much she loved it too.
Something clicked in his mind, however, what had he ever done to deserve such utter rejection? Nothing he screamed with a howl. His deep jade green eyes opened defiantly from their previous closed position. He loved company and he wasnt going to abandon this love just to mull over a femme, beautiful as she was, who didnt appreciate him for who he was. Breaking into a run, he cleared the previous forest clearing into the edge of the forest.
With a magnificent jump over the creek he could have walked over, he found his usual high off the power he felt when running, the wind whipping his fur back, the trees flashing by in a green blur overhead. Reaching the crest of a hill, he threw his head back and with a howl asked for the company of any others nearby. Sitting down, he decided to stay on the hill, knowing that others could see him easier from this vantage, and eagerly awaited anyone who wouldnt mind a casual conversation and a walk.
After about 20 minutes, the ivory wolf, grew bored of the wait, and approached a stand of trees on the far side of the meadow. A deep contrast with the previous forest he had just been in, these woods were dark and held little light. Vines hung from their blackened branches, while the trees looked like they had been struck by lightning several times yet still stood. An uneasy feeling overtook him but he pressed onwards. A small crack echoed on his right and he whirled around ready to fight anything. It was just a squirrel. The squirrel was, however, black and didnt look like normal squirrels had seen before.
He caught the sound of water and walked towards it cautiously, noticing this water was murky and brown, as if it was fueled by dirt rather than snow from the mountains. The forest was starting to grow on him though. He liked its differences finding its previous creepiness more refreshing than you would've thought. The scary black squirrel before, now looked sleek and quick. The vines almost made a sort of entryway, and the murky brown water, well he just wouldnt drink it.
A sudden thought struck him, was this land claimed? The thought surprised him for he had never claimed a land before. He had fallen in love with this place though, the light forest on one side and the dark on the other seperated by a quiet open meadow, he loved the contrast. With a howl, he announced his claiming, if anyone came to object, he would fight.
